OPINION: “Australian Women Will Decide If Australia Joins the Race to Save the planet”.

The forthcoming Australian election will be centred around Australian woman’s human right to #DignityOfWoman and Australia’s sustainability existing alongside with climate change prevention policies and issues of declining water supply, on a global platform.
Before the National Party leadership spill on 21 June 2021. National Party MPs Anne Webster, and Michelle Landry both warned against the reinstatement of former leader, Barnaby Joyce saying many women would be unimpressed. Ms Price-Purnell, who was a member of the Nationals for more than a decade and left last year, said women in regional Australia had grown frustrated by the party.
"I think women are getting frustrated that no-one really seems to be listening," she said.
"Everything gets turned into a women's issue. You know, childcare shouldn't be a women's issue, it should be a societal issue.
Mr Joyce resigned from the role in 2018 amid accusations of sexual harassment – allegations he strenuously denies – as well as revelations about his extramarital affair with a staffer (www.abc.net.au/news/2021-06-22/barnaby-joyce-nationals-leader-return-angers-women/).
Barnaby Joyce renewed leadership of the National Party 21 June 2021, hangs under a cloud, following the revelations of West Australian (WA) MP Jackie Jarvis, who has claimed in State Parliament she was warned, the Deputy Prime Minister had a history of fondling women (https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-06-25/barnaby-joyce-had-history-of-groping-women-wa-labor-mp-says/). To be clear, Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce has not been charged by police and strenuously denies Jackie Jarvis’ claims, labeling them as defamatory and spurious, challenging the WA State MP to repeat them outside the chamber and cover of parliamentary privilege (https://www.sbs.com.au/news/defamatory-and-spurious-barnaby-joyce-responds-to-wa-mp-s-claim-of-having-a-groping-history). Joyce is no stranger to claims of sexual harassment against him. In 2018 Catherine Marriott claimed Barnaby Joyce had sexually harassed her in Canberra in 2016 (https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-06-25/barnaby-joyce-had-history-of-groping-women-wa-labor-mp-says/100244186). In the wake of the alleged rape of Liberal Staffer Brittany Higgins (https://www.news.com.au/national/politics/parliament-house-alleged-rape-how-brittany-higgins-horror-night-unfolded/news-story/), it is not the start to the week, the Deputy Prime Minister of Australia sought.
The exasperation with Australia’s continual denial was clear among those world leaders in Cornwall last week. World leaders remember Morrison, who paraded a lump of coal in parliament house as Australia’s Treasurer and were intent on sidelining Australia’s Prime Minister Morrison with no official role in discussions denying him his usual tactic of resorting to his transactional politics with no meaningful policy to offer G7 leaders. President Biden moved quickly putting the U.S at the top of climate action pack. Despite Australia’s reputation as a global pariah on climate change, coalition partners The National party have removed their leader Deputy Prime Minister Mc Cormack and restored former leader Barnaby Joyce to the role of Deputy Prime Minister. Without doubt Barnaby’s return to the leadership is a last-ditch attempt by climate change denialists to regain control of policy agenda in the face of overwhelming international pressure to act. Despite, hundreds of Australian farmers have called on Australia’s new Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce to make serious moves on climate change, saying the cost of doing nothing has already hit hard in their communities. The notion of Barnaby moving towards climate change prevention policies is unlikely, in 2013 he was stoic in resisting implementing policy on renewable energy ((https://thenewdaily.com.au/news/2021/06/22/climate-change-barnaby-joyce/).
“The Lowy Institute poll shows the majority of Australians support a ban on new coal mines. They also support incentives for buying electric vehicles and developing renewable energy technology — policies the government is ignoring in order to fund polluting fossil fuels,” said Dr Rice (https://www.miragenews.com/new-poll-majority-of-australians-want-a-net-566187/).
In my article “The Failure of Australia’s Native Title Act” I outlined the LNP’s relationship with Lobbyists for mining companies have influenced government policy, making donations to political parties before the approval for new mines seeking to influence government decision. From 2011- 2015 the mining industry donated almost 2.2 million Dollars to the federal liberal party, while the federal Labour party received $890,000 and the Queensland labour party received $68,000 and the Queensland party received $700,00 over the same period (https://dailyclout.io/failure-of-australias-native-title-act/). .
Labor leader Anthony Albanese called out Mr Joyce for being a climate change denialist that would further damage Australia’s reputation as a global pariah on climate change and isolating Australia on a global platform from meaningful discussions concerning climate change prevention (https://thenewdaily.com.au/news/politics/australian-politics/2021/06/23/nationals-climate-change-joyce/0.
“What we have is a rump in the coalition, in the National Party and in the Liberal Party, but it’s a rump that’s holding back Australia,” he said.
“While Australians suffer through worsening bush fires, heatwaves and other extreme weather events fueled by climate change, the Federal Government is busy funding new fossil fuel projects and fanning the flames of the crisis,” he said.
The dominant cause of climate change is greenhouse emissions from the burning of fossil fuels and coal. The well-being and health of people is negatively impacted from air and water pollution. Legislation in Alaska and Australia has failed to protect the right to land ownership of the Indigenous people of the land. In effect the legislation was designed to extinguish Native Alaskan and Indigenous Australians” claim to Native Title. Thus, allowing corporations and government to profit from oil and gas exploration, with no concern for the damage to health, environment, or climate (https://dailyclout.io/the-native-title-act-is-a-real-threat-to-preventing-climate-change/).
The Climate Council recently set new science-based targets for Australia. Outlining need to reduce our emissions by 75% by 2030 based on 2005 levels and reach net zero emissions by 2035.
“Urgent emissions reductions this decade will not only curb dangerous climate change, but they will also deliver many benefits ranging from lower electricity prices to secure new jobs,” said Dr Rice.
“The Federal Government’s failure on climate action threatens the health and well-being of Australians as well as our prosperity. We need urgent emissions reductions and a rapid, managed transition from fossil fuels to a renewables-powered economy,” said Dr Rice (\climatecouncil.org.au/resources/new-poll-majority-australians-want-net-zero-target/).
On Wednesday 23 June 2921, the Nationals surprised the Liberals, surprised amendments to change the Murray-Darling Basin Act to ban the government from buying back water from farmers to return it to the environment, removing the need for 450 gigalitres be given back to the river The National party is demanding no further water be taken when the basin plan concludes in 2024.
Australian’s want a better future, where the #DignityOfWoman is respected and for Australia to join the race to preventing climate change and be guardians of the planet.
I want to see dignity for all. Women to not be molested, raped or put down. No domestic violence. Women to get equal pay. But more importantly I want all humans (and animal) to be valued.
I want to see Refugees released and treated without their human rights veing abused from 2013 - today.
Both men & women understand the realities of Climate Science. Both men & women have concerns about the methane greenhouse gases, worse than C02 fron gas industry.
Sure more women will taje an interest in politics after 2020 - 21 chauvanism.
I pin my hopes in young people voting for the first time. They have a greater social conscience than many members of Parliament.
Finally I am disgusted that self-interested rorters are back running the National Party (fossilfuels).
Joyce & McKenzie are a bloody disgrace.
